The SteelSeries Arctis 3 2019 Edition Wireless
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 2019 Edition Wireless are excellent gaming headphones that are also Bluetooth-enabled, allowing you to listen to music through your phone while using the earphones wired to your console. They have an excellent microphone that is clear and full-bodied, making it ideal for online gaming. This model is comparable to the other Arctis headphones we’ve evaluated so far and looks very similar to the SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition. They don’t isolate against noise levels and feel a little plasticky, but they’re incredibly adaptable and work with almost any gaming platform. They also boast a battery life of 42 hours, which is rather outstanding.

Features of SteelSeries Arctis 3 2019 Edition Wireless
In terms of design, the SteelSeries Arctis 3 and SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition are nearly identical. They have the same one-piece plastic headband that doesn’t appear as well-made as higher-end Arctis headphones. This model, however, retains SteelSeries’ characteristic self-adjusting ski-band headband design. On the other side, they lack RGB illumination. The headset has the same broad cups and straightforward style as the rest of the Arctis series.
These headphones are just as comfy as the rest of the Arctis line. The cushioning on the cup is soft and comfortable against the skin. Because the cups are large and deep, the most ear should fit within. The headband, like other SteelSeries headphones we’ve evaluated so far, is an adjustable ski band that equalizes the weight of the headset. Unfortunately, some people, particularly those with bigger skulls, may find them too snug. Because there is a limit to how far the ski band can be extended, some people may feel the framework of the headset sitting on the top of the head.
The SteelSeries Arctis 3’s control scheme is comprehensive and simple to use. The power/pairing button may be used to play/pause music and accept calls, whether you’re using headphones wired or wirelessly over Bluetooth. You can also skip tracks by double-tapping them. Unfortunately, you cannot travel back in time. On the left cup, there’s also a volume dial and a mic-mute button. The keys are easy to distinguish and utilise.
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 headphones, like other SteelSeries headphones, aren’t extremely breathable. Even if the cushioning is porous, it might be tight on certain heads and don’t allow much air to pass through. You’ll probably notice a slight temperature differential with time, but this should not be an issue during play sessions. However, they are not suitable for sports because you will sweat significantly more than usual.
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 Bluetooth, like other gaming headphones, isn’t the most portable. They are hefty and do not fold to create a more compact configuration. On the plus side, their cups rotate to lay flat, making it easy to slip the headphones into a bag or put them around your neck without the cups bothering you.
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 is made similarly to the SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition and feels a little cheaper than the rest of the series. This model’s headband frame is constructed of plastic and does not feel as solid as the SteelSeries Arctis 7 2019 Edition, SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless, or SteelSeries Arctis Pro GameDAC. The cups, on the other hand, are the same and should withstand a few inadvertent drops without too much harm. The extendable microphone is also bendable and well-made.
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 feel sturdy because they are quite snug. But their hefty shape will not be suited for most strenuous sports and physical exercise. They swing with head motion and are not intended for exercise. These earphones are also connected, so be cautious not to get the cable caught on something since this might cause the headphones to fall off your head. You may also eliminate that danger by using Bluetooth with your phone.
The imagery is fantastic and the Weighted frequency response is 0.27, which is well within acceptable bounds. The GD graph also demonstrates that the overall group delay is below the audibility threshold, indicating a tight bass and clear treble. Furthermore, the L/R drivers in our test unit were very well in phase and amplitude but had a very slight frequency mismatch. This is necessary for proper positioning and localization of items in the stereo field (voices, instruments, video game effects).
The microphone on the SteelSeries Arctis 3 is of high quality. It outperforms the Corsair HS70 Bluetooth microphone in full, detailed, and present speech. It does, however, sound highly bright, and while it will not sound neutral, it may assist cut through sound from your game.
With over 40 hours of uninterrupted playback, the SteelSeries Arctis 3 is among the earphones we’ve tested that provide the longest playback time without the use of real AA or AAA batteries. Because of their high battery life, they are projected to take a little longer to recharge than typical Bluetooth headphones. Unfortunately, they do not switch off automatically after a short period of inactivity. Even if the battery is dead, you may use them passively using an audio cord, which is useful.
Originally, the connection was stated as 1/8″ TRRS. However, the headset’s connection is a Mini B 8-Pin. These adjustments have been reflected in the results.
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 supports audio and microphone on nearly any platform that has the necessary connector thanks to their small B 8-pin to 1/8″ TRRS connection. To utilize the mic and headphone connectors on the PC, you’ll need to use the PC Y-splitter.
