SteelSeries Arctis 7 2019 Edition Wireless

Introduction

For many years, SteelSeries has been a significant player in the gaming accessory market, offering practically all options. The company’s latest gaming headset, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 2019 Edition Wireless. It has a features of a  Discord-certified mic, a long battery life, and wireless capabilities.

It is mainly for the gamers who prefer wireless audio. Instead of Bluetooth, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 is a wireless headphone that connects using a 2.4GHz wireless RF USB dongle. The headphones are a touch less adaptable as a result. But you don’t have to spend as much pairing anything, and there is no discernible delay.

What is there to like about the SteelSeries Arctis 7?

It includes an adjustable suspension band and a sturdy aluminium frame. This resembles ski goggles, similar like the SteelSeries Arctis Pro and Arctis 9 Wireless, which we recently tested. The headphones’ panels have a matte finish and are attached on slightly offset hinges. The Arctis 7 doesn’t visually shout “gamer” like the majority of gaming headphones do.The only noticeable light on the entire piece shines when the mic is silenced. There are no neon accents or LED striping. The extendable microphone, which protrudes out roughly four inches on an elastic wire, is also housed in the left headphone.

The Arctis 7 is quite cozy, much like the Arctis Pro. The number of comfortable play sessions after temporarily adjusting the velcro suspension strap. The strap was comfy and elastic. This gives just the proper amount of pressure to maintain the headphone snug on my head.

Walking around my flat, though, often make it feel a little loose because it was wifi. Despite the fact that you don’t actually need to be close to whatever gaming device you’re using. These headphones are obviously made for sitting down. Things can be a little shaken even by  a slight movement.

The headphone pads that come with the headset are constructed of airweave fabric. This has a stiffness that seems to fall between between that of leather and velour. These pads, like the Arctis Pro, are as warm as leather and were big enough to comfortably go around ears.

How can you control the SteelSeries Arctis 7 ?

Both headphones’ bottoms are lined with controls. A volume slider, a mic mute button, a 3.5mm, Micro-USB, and four-pin port are all located on the left headphone. The power button and a slider for alternating between the headset’s game. The conversation audio channels are located on its right side. When using the Arctis 7 on a PC, these channels are denoted as Arctis Chat and Arctis Game, respectively.

Why you should get SteelSeries Engine?

Even though the SteelSeries Arctis 7 uses software rather than a built-in DAC unit to provide many of the same choices as Arctis Pro. The headset runs the same software as other SteelSeries devices, SteelSeries Engine 3.

The Arctis 7’s sound settings can be changed in a variety of ways with Engine. You can switch between stereo and 7.1 sound, control the sound dynamic range. It even manually alter the output of the headphones at various frequencies.

To put it bluntly, it stinks that you need this in order to activate surround sound. I generally dislike the idea of need an app in order to properly utilise a piece of hardware like this. The app itself is simpler than the majority of comparable products from SteelSeries’ rivals, so it doesn’t get in the way.

Is SteelSeries Arctis 7 good for gaming?

The Arctis 7 uses the same DTS Headphone:X 2.0 technology as the Arctis Pro to provide 7.1 digital surround sound for gaming. It creates life like 3D audio scapes in games like Overwatch and Fortnite. This solution really closely matched what I was hoping for in a gaming headset.

In non-shooter titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Draugen, surround sound elements doesnot really add much to the experience. As compared to stereo sound, but they were still great to have.

How can you connect to SteelSeries Arctis 7?

There are wired and wireless connectivity options with the SteelSeries. It employs a USB dongle that works with the Nintendo Switch while docked, the Playstation 4, and PC when going wireless. There is a 3.5mm cord available for wired connections to the Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch that is not docked, but you give up the numerous software functions and multiple audio channels. The 40-foot range of the Arctis 7 is claimed by SteelSeries.

What is so special about SteelSeries Arctis 7’s battery life?

SteelSeries touted a 15-hour battery life for the Arctis 7 at the time of its debut. The maker claims that since then, it has improved and can now run for 24 hours on a single charge after releasing a firmware update.

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 lasted 16 hours and 32 minutes during our testing, although you might get a little more out of it since we listened to it louder than most people do.

Does the SteelSeries Arctis 7 blocks the noise out?

When it comes to isolation, the Arctis 7 performs on par with or better than most gaming headsets. You shouldn’t have any issues with the sounds of chatty roommates, family in the next room, or the sporadic traffic noise outside the window, however it can scarcely compete with headphones with ANC.

With the 3.5mm wire, these headphones—unlike the majority of gaming headsets—actually function while you’re moving around. These won’t do much to muffle city noise when used outdoors, but you’ll probably want to hear some of it anyway because it’s rarely a good idea to entirely tune out your surroundings.
